Whether playing with The Faceless, Glass Casket, dropping a guest spot on Periphery II, or in Alluvial, Wes’ ferociously aggressive and immaculately clean playing cuts like a knife through the mix.
To facilitate the articulate and aggressive tones he’s known for, Wes requested a rails humbucker for 7-string with searing output and maximum clarity and balance. Built with dual stainless-steel rail poles, a ceramic magnet and a finely tuned high output wind developed closely with Wes, the result is the Jupiter for 7-string – a pickup that delivers aggressive mid-range focused attack, evenly balanced string response, and clarity. It won’t make you play like Wes, but it will help you cop his tone. All Jupiter humbuckers come with a 500k Seymour Duncan potentiometer – Wes’ preferred pot – and the first 150 pickups will be signed by Wes and the team who worked on the project.

7-strings are not easy to reign in but the Jupiter Rails does the job in a way that reminds you of playing a six string, its just sounds right. I love that it has a combination of attack and adds just a layer of hair in the signal sent to the amp! I sent mine up in an Ibanez with a Full Shred in the neck, second position is outter coils only, so to avoid hum I have a reverse wind reverse polarity version. Calling and sorting out my needs before ordering was simple and helpful, especially when if came down to deciding a good neck position match. I may try it with the Jazz 7 string I have and try ordering a 59 7 string as well.

The Jupiter helped me find the sound I’ve been searching for. It was like a blanket was lifted off my tone and suddenly all this amazing midrange and clarity was in the forefront.
Tight and even. Aggressive yet clear and articulate
Now I have the Jupiter/sentient combo in all 4 of my 7 strings. I can’t find a better bridge pickup. And I’ve put it up against just about all of them. Can’t say enough good things about this design.

I’ve tried so many pickups from other brands passive, active etc you name it! Most of the time they fail at recreating what would be a great 6 string pickup into a 7 format where the low frequencies matter. This one was built from the ground up to take care of down tuning.
Again the video description of the Jupiter is more spot on then I could describe And if you want a pickup that can do both lead and rhythm work this was made for Wes’s chops!
I do hope it becomes a production model because more people need to give the Jupiter a shot!
