Product Description

El Diablo has become so popular, we now stock and sell this model on our main website. You can order one using this link:

The El Diablo is a vicious pickup. Its super hot wind, Alnico 2 blade magnets, and dangerous aesthetics separate it from all other high output humbuckers.

Because of the Alnico 2 magnets and extra hot DC resistance, it’s one of the best pickups we make for thick saturation for rhythm playing and warm leads that push through.

DC Resistance: 21.72k

Application: Standard HB Route

Slightly longer than a standard humbucker, comes with custom mounting ring. If mounting in a pickguard slight modification may be required. Diagram here

We are passionate about quality so we ask for your patience while we craft your pickup. For shipping time estimates, please visit the Shipping & Returns page.

This is a high gain beast, one of the best pickup i have ever played, you need to tame it on high gain amplifiers, depending on equipment used, also cleans up nicely, there is something about the diablo when using heavy distortion that is so articulate and defined. This bridge humbucker is a great all rounder too, not just for metal,, but it’s metal at its best ! If you like your guitar tone hot heavy and huge, then this is the pickup of choice!

  2. AFAIK the hottest pickup made by anyone 5 Star Review

This thing is what it promises to be: angry, loud and aggressive. Not muddy at all though, the clean tones are clear as a bell. Absolutely fantastic pick-up, and the service at the Custom Shop was top-notch. They fulfilled an unusual special request for me, and what I received was perfect. Big thanks to everyone at SD!

Just FYI it went in a Dan Donegan Ultra in Satin Black, and it sounds phenomenal.

I bought this guy years ago and have tried it in a few different guitars: some with mixed results, some with amazing results. With this monster being so unique, that is to be expected.

The overall tonality is big and warm sounding. While it is definitely a high output humbucker, its relatively balanced EQ and warm presentation actually makes it seem less "hot" when compared to say....the Distortion, with those aggressive upper mids and cutting highs.

If your guitar is already really warm or dark sounding, this may not be the ideal pickup: it can get a little muddy and hard to control. It can be just the ticket in a bright sounding axe though: leads really sing and notes are huge, while the brightness of the guitar keeps things controllable!
