I dropped this pickup directly into the bridge position for a 2019 les Paul tribute and have not been disappointed. I had no idea what to expect as I’d never used a parallel axis pickup and never used an Alnico 8 pickup so I was in the dark as to what I might be able to expect it to sound like but I have been stunned by this pickup.
The things I would say that are worth pointing out are as followed:
Clarity - I was worried the pickup may sound muddy but the complete opposite is true Every note really cuts through without being clangy sounding and thin
Harmonics - pinches just really come to life I can’t convey how much character this pickup has
Versatility - I have replaced the pots on my les Paul so there is not as much treble loss when I roll back the bridge volume and I have been able to get an almost p90 like tone as a result which opens new sounds you can get from your guitar.
Would highly recommend even if you’re sceptical like I was!
Just remember to measure and check your string spacing
