Seymour Duncan is absolutely amazing. Fantastic customer service! I described the setup and tone I wanted, even specified the type of magnets based on a ton of reading and listening. The pickups I received sound EXACTLY like what I asked for! How do they do that! Now I’m really having a hard time resisting the urge to put Duncan’s in all my guitars!! Highly recommend!

I picked up a new Strat recently and wanted to swap the bridge pup. I have a set of Saturday Night Special's in another guitar and knew that was the direction I wanted to go. I put in my request for a single sized SNS and a few days later I got a phone call. We talked a few minutes on what I was looking for. Some suggestions were made and a few weeks later I had my pickup in hand. I installed the new "Bar Fight" pickup in the strat & HOT DAMN!! They nailed it! I'm a happy camper. I'm sure this won't be my last custom order!

Ive been playing Seymour Duncan pickups for 32 years.
This is the first time I ever custom ordered their pickups.
The only reason I ordered them custom instead of in-stock pick-ups is because I was going for a certain look.
I wanted the covers to look yellowish and aged, like the plastic yellowed with time. I made this perfectly clear on my phone conversation with the Seymour Duncan folks.
I personally have a great tecknique for doing this and it comes out perfect- but the pickups I wanted are sealed, noisless and I did not want to dip a sealed pickup in my secret solution..
What I got was pickup covers that look exactlly like the parchment colored pickup covers you can buy online from anywhere- not the yellowed, aged look I really wanted. So Im therefor going to work out a variation on my method to make them look right for my black strat.
Of course Seymour Duncans really are the best sounding pickups you can buy..

This was a stacked single coil pickup I had made and it sounds exactly like I described and replicates the sound in my head I had.The custom shop did a great job building this pickup and would definitely use them again to build any future pickup designs I may need.

I asked for a strat bridge pickup based on their telecaster BG1400 custom pickup. This is a stacked pickup originally created for Billy Gibbons. The pickup sounds great! It is thicker more aggressive, "crunchy" and not too bright. Being stacked it is also silent. It isn't out of balance with my other strat pickups too. I just love this pickup.

I asked and Seymour Duncan delivered! A few months ago I purchased a BG1400 for my Telecaster. It is an amazing pick-up. I have had a lot of other artists ask me where I was getting the amazing tone. I reached out to SD to see if they could recreate it for the bridge position in my Strat. They delivered! If you have a Strat and want a great pick-up with big fat tone, reach out to the Custom Shop and have it made. It will make you fall in love with your Strat all over again!
