I've been a fretless player for a long time (since 1971), and ultimately settled on Jaco as an obvious Master of this instrument. I have always wanted a replica of the "Bass of Doom", and recently purchased a CIJ Fender Jazz replica (without the relic treatment). I decided to do my best at duplicating what Jaco had, Roto Sound Swing Bass 66 strings, and a period correct pre-amp. Then found out about Seymour Duncan's custom build pickups that he did for Jaco, and decided to replicate that...including epoxy potting. The result is astounding...I'm still exploring sonic palette that it produces.

Recently added a new set to a 62 reissue Jazz Bass. Great sounding pickups. Excellent construction with a reasonable cost and delivery.
