In the early ‘80s when high gain and hot pickups were the way most players leaned, Seymour modified one of his humbuckers for a friend who was a master Fusion player and composer.
The AH combines overwound coils and an Alnico 5 magnet with two rows of adjustable screws. The impact of the screws adds meat to single notes and lower midrange to chords.

An unusual sound at such high DC resistance, very PAF like tone with extras. A very rich tone when overdriven, stands alone despite JB comparisons. Response and sustain are exceptional. A nice clean sound, not honky or too loud.
I play legato, but more staccato, so I like some level of percussive attack. This pickup has a smoother attack, generally, notes don't have overbite, nor do they smear. The overall buttery sound during leads has the ultimate tone compared to all other passive pickups.
Any style can be produced, I would call this the Gentleman Virtuoso's pickup.

I purchased my second one recently for another guitar "project" (still in the box) because I just can't see how I can feel satisfied with a different one. I loved the classic PAF sound and this one is definitely the next step for me whether I use it for mousy snappy rhythm, jazzy solos, wide chords and definitely the best for overdrive solos. It has like an all round overall tone in all the frecuencies, not to bassy or too trebly anywhere and the output is surprisingly cut-through. It is definitely worth the extra bucks :)
