Unlike the man it was created for, the RTM seriously screams. It’s as loud as any high output humbuckers, but what makes it special is the way it naturally compresses to make every note smooth and balanced. Chords become more complex and your solos will sound even when going from far up to far down the fretboard.

For reference, my guitar is a ESP LTD Elite ST-1 (Japan made, alder body, maple neck and fretboard, 24 fret, HSS format, Air Norton S in the neck, Elixir Nanoweb 9 gauge in standard tuning). I mainly play 80s, 90s rock, hard rock, metal, heavy metal, progressive metal, neoclassical metal (basically everything in that range).
I originally had the TB-5 in the bridge. It was alright, but was a bit bright and not "heavy" enough for my taste.
You definitely get what you pay for here. I have a JB in my Jackson (DK2QM, very similar guitar), and I can hear and feel the difference the RTM has. It's loud, has great clarity, and sounds very RATT like but with a slightly different twist in sound. That different twist, in my opinion makes it a better than the JB, DD or any pickup the 80s guys used. I'll be jamming on this pickup for years to come! Thanks everyone @ SD!
(Oh, and DeMartini's and Seymour Duncan's signature on the back is the icing on the cake!)
